Team 188: Blizzard - In a world brimming with untapped potential, Team 188 is on a mission to ignite the power of curiosity in every child. Established in 1995, Team 188: Blizzard, based at Woburn Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, Ontario, represents a pioneering force in high school robotics.

Engaging annually in both the FIRST Robotics Competition and the VEX Robotics Competition, Blizzard has significantly contributed to nearly two decades of innovation and educational excellence at Woburn C.I. The alumni of Team 188 have distinguished themselves across various sectors, ascending to leadership positions in engineering, law, education, and healthcare. Throughout its 24-year history, Blizzard has demonstrated remarkable growth and influence on the FIRST community.

Initially participating in Canada FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) for two years, the team subsequently joined U.S. FIRST, the most extensive school robotics competition globally, thus becoming the first non-American team to partake. Team 188's successful integration into FIRST has been a catalyst for increased international participation, facilitating the entry of numerous teams from Canada and beyond into the competition. This expansion has led to the emergence of hundreds of teams and the establishment of the Ontario District regionals and championships. Throughout its involvement in FIRST, Team 188 has earned numerous prestigious awards at various regional competitions, underlining its sustained excellence and pioneering spirit in the field of high school robotics.
